This seven-part series for Telesur was filmed during six days in October 2005 and aired in November 2005. The English-language version was produced in December 2005. The cameraman was Ramón Muñoz. The series is the first original reporting from Haiti aired on Telesur, and as such, it seeks to provide viewers with a broad introduction to the situation in the country.

Given the time constraints, this series does not pretend to be comprehensive -- to give just one example, none of the seven parts was filmed outside of Port-au-Prince. Important context inevitably went missing and countless stories were not told. In any case, I hope the series provides a solid launching point from which Telesur will report on the most pressing issues in Haiti with increasing depth. I welcome your criticisms and suggestions.
